Holiday Exercises

OK. For some, holidays are just a day off work or out of school. But we all know that a day off can be a day filled with poor food choices. Celebrate your day off with some me-time that includes a workout (and maybe a trip to the spa or movies after) instead of ice cream, cakes, and cookies.

 

Try body-weight exercises.

Body weight exercises are just as effective as traditional workouts. The best part is that you'll burn fat and tone your muscles in less time. Start with some push-ups. This classic exercise activates the chest, arms, shoulders, and abs. It also works on your core muscles and builds upper body strength. Do three or four sets of 12 to 15 reps.  

Get a jump rope.

For a challenging cardio workout, act like a kid again!

This fun activity burns 140 calories in just 10 minutes and can be done anywhere. You can even plan a jump rope competition! This way you'll get a full body workout, spend time with your friends, and enjoy the holiday at the same time!

Take a walk. Brisk walking is one of the best ways to stay in shape and burn calories effortlessly. Holidays offer the perfect opportunity to go on a long walk with your family and friends. You can explore the city with a walking tour, catch up with your neighbors during a stroll through your neighborhhood, or plan a hike on a local trail.

Fitness doesn’t have to be stressful. It can be fun, relaxing, and enjoyable when you do activities you like.
